Porcari is a town of about 8000 inhabitants in the province of Lucca. Some archaeological evidence that there were settlements in Porcari since the Bronze Age, in a Fosssa Black, and an Etruscan settlement, then romano presso il Lago di Sesto. Porcari diventò importante nel Medioevo come tappa sulla via Francigena e come zona strategica per raggiungere Firenze Pisa e Lucca. Ed è a Porcari che gli amici deel'Atletica Porcari organizzano da ormai 27 anni una manifestazione podistica che richiama una quantità impressionante di podisti da tutta la Toscana, Liguria ed Emilia Romagna. Quest'anno sono girate voci che volevano al via oltre 9000 podisti e  comunque garantisco che  erano erano veramente tanti. I percorsi erano i classici 6, di 3, 5, 12, 17, 20 e 25 km e tutti molto interessanti.  Il nostro guppo si è presentato con 16 partecipanti, abbastanza considerata la distanza e la stagione, e quasi tutti hanno fatto 12 km. RUNS THE MARATHON Sunday, February 6 LOLLI

After Sunday without any races due to bad weather this morning we went to Zola Predosa to participate in the marathon organized by Lolli. Many runners, certainly more than a thousand people attended the event, spreading the four locations. Our group was represented by 11 participants and all how did the 12 km. Good organization, well-marked trails are good inns.
